Ayr were promoted to the Championship following a dramatic penalty shoot-out against Stranraer at Somerset Park after it finished 1-1 on aggregate. Andy Graham scored the decisive kick after keeper Greg Fleming had saved from Paul Cairney, Jamie Longworth and David Barron. Willie Gibson was the only Stranraer scorer while Jordan Preston and Alan Trouten also netted for the home side.
